Lillian Tong

Lillian Tong, Ph.D., Emeritus Faculty Associate, has been a member of the Faculty Advisory Committee since the beginning of the Asian American Studies Program in 1992. Her career included 12 years doing neuroscience research at UW-Madison in the Scientist track. Most of her career was spent at the Center for Biology Education, now WISCIENCE (Wisconsin Institute for Science Education and Community Engagement), working with science faculty and staff across the UW campus to improve undergraduate science education. She developed and taught courses and programs for graduate students and faculty. She has been active in diversity initiatives, including participating on the AdHoc Committee for the UW Diversity Plan and WISELI (Women in Science and Engineering Leadership Institute).   She is a member of the Teaching Academy and received an Outstanding Woman of Color Award in 2014.
